Daniel J Romano

Biography

 

Daniel Romano is a Philadelphia-based actor, playwright, educator, producer, dialect coach and singer/musician. He has worked at the Arden Theatre (Ragtime), Orlando Shakes (Hamlet, A Christmas Carol, Gertrude & Claudius), and the Media Theatre (The King and I), among others. He received his MFA in Acting at the University of Central Florida, where he appeared in Hedda Gabler (Judge Brack), The Lion in Winter (Richard), and Pentecost (Mikhail Czaba). He also has a BFA in Drama at New York University, where he appeared in Hamlet (Claudius), Uncle Vanya (Doctor Astrov), and As You Like It (Corin/Amiens), among other shows. He also received an AA in Theater Arts from Delaware County Community College in Pennsylvania, where he won awards for Outstanding Achievement in both Theater and Music.

Daniel served as a dialect coach (Original Pronunciation) for a production of Twelfth Night at the Orlando Shakespeare Theatre. As a playwright, his plays have been performed at the Dr. Phillips Center and the John & Rita Lowndes Shakespeare Center in Orlando, 440 Studios in New York City, as well as in educational settings at NYU and UCF. During the 2017 Ten-Minute Play Festival at UCF, his play, Monstrous, won him the award for Best Playwright. As a musician, he has studied voice for fifteen years, and the tuba for ten. He has also dabbled in piano, guitar, bass guitar, and drums.

In his spare time, Daniel is a programmer, knowing C++, C# and Java. He is a Dungeon Master and avid Dungeons and Dragons player. He enjoys reading fantasy fiction, and has been a lifelong Harry Potter fan, even co-hosting a podcast about Wizard Rock, The PwnCast of Wrock in the past.

Daniel is also a member of the Phi Theta Kappa honors society.
